Pret A Diner comes from the underground of London to the glamourous yet thought provoking space of 50 St James’s street. The original building, designed by Benjamin and Philip Wyatt, was built in 1827 as a luxurious gaming house frequented by the Duke of Wellington and remained a private members club and casino under various different names through the years. For this edition of Pret A Diner, we literally took over the building and transformed into an unexpected interpretation of the essence of Italia.
It was time to show how “Italians Do It Better” to over 10,000 friends as they joined the stroll through Italy in the prestigious 50 St James Street location in a concept that elegantly contrasted “Tradizione vs. Evoluzione.” A showcase of the pure »dolce vita«: From simple fisherman’s fare to molecular cuisine. From the works of rebellious Italian street artists to the sophisticated creations of sharp-minded intellectuals. From trusty Italian sing-along love songs to Italian electro House DJs.
