LONDON- THE MINOTAUR

Inspired by the organic identity of local customs we took over the Old Vic Tunnels in Waterloo and transformed them (with the help of the preeminent street art gallerist Steve Lazarides) into a vibrant labyrinth of urban creativity and contemporary cuisine. With stars like Madonna, Kevin Spacey and Valentino in attendance, we went underground and took the city by storm.

PRET A DINER | THE MINOTAUR

OLD VIC TUNNELS. LONDON, UK

To mark our first visit to London, we were welcomed with open arms into the underworld of Waterloo, to what would go down in history as our biggest production ever. During Frieze Art Fair and The London Restaurant Festival,  the Old Vic tunnels were transformed into an alternative cultural space featuring a labyrinth gallery of cutting-edge artwork and film, offering a world-class restaurant and lounge-bar. Pret a Diner was the official "pop-up" restaurant partner of the London Restaurant Festival. Inspired by the organic identity of local customs, we took over the tunnels and transformed them into a vibrant labyrinth of urban creativity and contemporary cuisine paying respect to the ancient Greek legend of The Minotaur turning it into a space reminiscent of a bacchanalian feast.

Our partner Steve Lazarides  commissioned artists from his international stable to each create their own interpretation of the classical myth within a stunning Labyrinth installation. Artists included: Stanley Donwood, Jonathan Yeo, Antony Micallef, Conor Harrington, Doug Foster, 3D, Ian Francis, ATMA, Michael Najjar and Lucy McLauchlan . With stars like Madonna, Kevin Spacey and Valentino in attendance, we went underground and took the city by storm with over 90 pages of press coverage in 14 days, leaving a legacy unforgotten.
